Technical Assistant (all genders) - IT

Full-time | limited to 1 year with an option for permanent employment

In the Service Group for Administrative Assistance TU Wien is offering a position as Technical Assistant (all genders) - IT for 40 hours/week (limited to 1 year with an option for permanent employment). Expected start: immediately.

Tasks:

  • IT support, e.g. assisting staff at the institute, training and support for TU services (OwnCloud, TU Shop, etc.)
  • IT infrastructure administration
  • Documentation (creating guides for staff and maintaining content for system administration and infrastructure)
  • Technical advice and support for the institute’s researchers regarding the procurement of new IT-related infrastructure
  • Technical IT support in teaching and research (e.g. for digital exams, digital lab journals, digital ordering platforms, etc.)

Your profile:

  • Completed IT training (HTL, apprenticeship, degree, or similar qualification)
  • Specialist knowledge and a basic understanding of technology
  • Professional experience in the IT sector is an advantage
  • Experience in system administration or helpdesk support is an advantage
  • Very good German language skills (at least C1) and good English language skills (at least B1)
  • Analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach
  • Willingness to take responsibility and show initiative
  • Customer focus and communication skills
  • Organisation and planning/project management and professionalism
  • Digital skills and management skills
  • Willingness to innovate, willingness to cooperate and work well in a team

Entry level salary is determined by the level IIIA of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,759.20/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
