University Assistant Prae-Doc (all genders)
20 hours/week (with option for30 hours/week) | limited to 3 years
At the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics, in the Research Unit of Technical Dynamics and Vehicle System Dynamics, TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) for female students (20 hours/week, with option for 30 hours/week, limited to expected 3 years). Expected start: August 2025.
Tasks:
- Collaboration in research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
- Cooperation with students and their guidance
- Research and project activity - developing and analysing a steer-by-wire system for electric bicycles
- Writing a dissertation and publications
- Presentations at scientific conferences
- Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completed master or diploma curriculum in Mechanical Engineering or related fields with a focus on Technical Dynamics
- Excellent expertise in solid mechanics
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics, multibody dynamics, and control engineering
- Interest in and experience with numerical simulation and practical experiments
- Very good skills in German and English communication and writing
- Interest in research in the field of research and in working with students
- Strong team spirit, problem-solving skills, and innovative mindset

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 1,857.40/month gross, 14 times/year for 20 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
