At the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics, in the Research Unit of Technical Dynamics and Vehicle System Dynamics, a position as University Assistant (female, Post-Doc) limited to expected 4 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: August 2025.
Tasks:
- Conducting scientific research within our research team - Investigation of physically based machine learning methods for modelling/parameterisation and control/observation of dynamic systems Technical Dynamics, particularly in Mechanics
- Independent teaching or participation in teaching in
- Supervising students
- Submitting research proposals
- Preparing scientific publications
- Presenting at scientific conferences
- Supporting organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completed doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with relevance to Technical Dynamics
- Excellent knowledge of solid body mechanics
- Strong expertise in software development for embedded systems
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics, multibody dynamics, and control engineering
- Experience in setting up measurement systems for experiments and analyzing results
- Experience in university-level teaching and student supervision
- Experience in independently preparing scientific publications
- Excellent command of German and English
- Interest in research within the field and in working with students
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, and innovativeness

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,932.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
