At the Institute of Chemical, Environmental and Bioscience Engineering, in the Research Group for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (post-doc) limited to expected six years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: March 2025.
A particular research focus is set in the field of experimental separations engineering (thermal process engineering) and biorefinery technology, whereby innovative, resource-conserving separation processes are developed at lab- and pilot-scale for further scale-up - suitable for process integration - which are used in many areas of process engineering, energy technology and biorefinery technology. In addition, modern methods for modelling and simulation of separation processes and biorefinery concepts are applied.
Tasks:
- Deep interest in scientific problems and the motivation for independent and goal-oriented research with a focus on experimental separations engineering, modelling of separation processes, biorefinery technology and mixed phase thermodynamics
- Independent teaching or participation in teaching and exams as well as supervision of students
- The ability to develop methods, concepts, as well as their realization and evaluation and the willingness to contribute in interdisciplinary scientific projects
- High interest in developing the research field through scientific publications and the participation and organization of scientific conferences and events
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research division and the faculty
Your profile:
- Completion of an appropriate doctorate (Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Technical Chemistry or similar) and in-depth knowledge of the subject area separations engineering and biorefinery technology
- Excellent knowledge of the foundations of scientific work
- Experience in national and international research cooperation as well as in project management and presentations
- Interest in interdisciplinary work
- Interest in research and working with students, ideally experience in supporting young researchers
- Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
