University Assistant Prae-Doc (all genders)

30 hours/week | limited to 4 years

At the Institute of Chemical, Environmental and Bioscience Engineering, in the Research Group for Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in the field of research: Efficient catalytic transformation of renewable resources into chemicals under supervision of Assistant Prof. Dr. Irina Delidovich TU Wien is offeing a position as university assistant prae-doc (all genders). The position is limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: October 2026.

Tasks:

  • Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
  • Supervision of students
  • Research and project activity: Synthesis and characterization of catalysts; performance of catalytic and mechanistic studies
  • Improvement and maintenance of experimental setups
  • Writing a dissertation and publications
  • Participation in scientific events
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
  • Contribution to the activities of the research group

 

Your profile:

  • Completed diploma or master’s degree in one of the following fields: chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Careful and responsible working style in an experimental setting
  • Laboratory experience in catalysis, chemo-catalytic biomass conversion, analytical methods such as HPLC or NMR, as well as synthesis, is an advantage
  • Strong ability to work in a team and enthusiasm for collaborating in an international research group
  • Structured, reliable, and independent working style, as well as willingness to familiarize oneself with new topics and methods
  • Interest in teaching activities
  • Good command of English and German (at least B2 level)

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,832.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
