in research and administration | 20 hours/week or each 10 hours/week | limited to 2 years

At the Institute of Telecommunications, in the Research Unit of Networks TU Wien is offering a position as student employee (all genders) in research/administration, wich is expected to start immediately (20 hour/week or two positions with each 10 hours/week). This position is expected to be limited to two years, but no longer than the completion of a master's or diploma degree.

Tasks:

  • Support in the development (programming), maintenance, and support of Jupyter notebooks for teaching units about network security with focus on network traffic data analysis and anomaly detection

Your profile:

  • Enrolled in a relevant bachelor's or master's program in electrical engineering, informatics, mathematics, physics or similar; no completed master´s or diploma degree in the field
  • Experience as a tutor is an advantage
  • Excellent programming skills (Python)
  • Experience with creating Jupyter notebooks
  • Team and communication skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis is an advantage
  • Experience with Docker containers (creation, automation, use) is an advantage
  • Experience with Moodle integration (TUWEL, LTI) is an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience with communication networks (TCP/IP), network data analysis, machine learning is an advantage

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade C of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 1,349.60/month gross, 14 times/year for 20 hours/week.
