University Assistant (Prae-Doc)

30 hours/week | limited to 4 years

At the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing in the Research Unit of Analysis, TU Wien is offering a 4-year position as university assistant (m_f, prae-doc) for 30 hours/week. Expected start: October 2022, requests for a slightly later start will be considered.

Tasks:

  • Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
  • Cooperation and guidance of students
  • Research and project activity
  • Writing a dissertation and publications
  • Participation in scientific events
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in Mathematics
  • Background in Differential Equations and/or Dynamical Systems
  • Experience in Multi-Scale Dynamical Systems or Computational Biology is a strong asset
  • Very good communication and writing skills in German and English
  • Interest in pursuing a research career in the field as well as supervision and work with students

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,294.00/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
